Getting started

This walkthrough takes you from a new Skavio company to a completed, paid, downloaded result over the MCP server.

1. Create your company and buy credits

  1. Register or sign in at the Skavio dashboard.
  2. Confirm your company details so Skavio can verify the tenant.
  3. Buy prepaid credits. Credits are settled in USDC into your existing Skavio

company wallet. 1 credit = 0.001 USD. Credit purchases are made only by a company administrator in the dashboard. An API key or MCP credential can never start a purchase.

2. Get an MCP credential

Follow authentication to create an MCP bearer credential for your verified company. The credential is shown once; store it in a secret manager. It is not your Processing API key.

3. Configure your client

Add the server to any standard MCP client:

4. Discover tools and prices

In your client, call skavio_paid_catalog. It returns the available paid operations, the unit, the USD price, the credit price and the enforced margin band. Calling it costs nothing.

Call skavio_wallet to see your current credit balance.

5. Run one paid job

The paid sequence is always the same: upload → estimate → submit → poll → download. Each paid tool is described in tools.

  1. Upload a file with skavio_upload (or skavio_upload_bytes for inline

content). The response is {"uploads":[{"id":"..."}]}; save the first id as your upload_id.

  1. Estimate with skavio_estimate to get an authoritative quote. This does

not spend credits.

  1. Submit with skavio_submit_job. Pass your own idempotency_key and set

max_credits to the quoted amount. The job reserves credits up to that cap.

  1. Poll with skavio_get_job until the status is completed or failed.
  2. Download the result with skavio_download_result. It returns a signed

delivery document with the SHA-256 of the bytes.

6. Check the accounting

Call skavio_adapter_usage to see your reserved and charged credits, and skavio_wallet for the live wallet balance. A completed job charges exactly its estimate; a failed job releases its whole reservation and charges nothing.
