Skavio Processing API — developer documentation

Skavio Flow and the Skavio Processing API make the billing sequence explicit: inspect the quote before processing, reserve company credits when submitting, and charge that fixed quote once on success. If a job permanently fails, its reservation is released back to the available company balance. Company signup receives 1,000 trial credits, subject to the current signup policy.

Skavio Processing API — developer documentation

One company wallet across web tools and API

The trial allowance belongs to the company—not to each person, product or access method. Skavio Flow, the Skavio Processing API, Skavio Transcribe, Skavio Meeting and Skavio File Toolbox share one Pricing V2 wallet. Using Flow in the browser and later submitting work through the API draws from the same company balance rather than creating separate pools of credits.

Get a document quote before starting

Flow extraction costs 25 credits per page, with a minimum of 25 credits per document. A two-page PDF therefore costs 50 Flow credits. If the entire 1,000-credit trial allowance were used only for single-page Flow documents, it would cover 40 documents at that rate. These are illustrative pricing calculations, not processing benchmarks. For API integrations, POST /v1/estimate returns a quote without starting processing. An application can inspect the credit requirement before submitting the work and reserving company credits.

A reservation holds credits; success settles the charge

Reserved credits and spent credits are different. Submission reserves the measured quote. Successful processing charges that fixed quote once; permanent failure releases the reservation back to available company credits. A temporary provider outage is different from a permanent failure. A job may remain queued with its reservation while the temporary problem persists. A transient error therefore does not necessarily trigger an immediate credit return. A reservation release is a return of available credits—not a cash refund.

Give an integration a credit ceiling

The Processing API documents max_credits as a rejection threshold when a quote exceeds the specified amount. Developers can use it to reject an automated submission whose quote is above the limit set by the application. The estimate and threshold serve different purposes: the estimate shows the credit requirement, while max_credits sets the maximum acceptable quote for submission.

Use the trial to test the whole review workflow

A useful trial goes beyond checking whether a file completes. Upload an invoice or order in [Skavio Flow](https://www.skavio.eu/flow/), inspect its estimate, and review the extracted dates, totals and line items before exporting XLSX, CSV or JSON. Flow provides source evidence and review warnings to support that review; extraction is not a substitute for checking the result. When more credits are needed, Pricing V2 top-ups include €6.99 for 6,990 credits and €10 for 10,000 credits. Prepaid credits do not expire, and monthly-plan credits roll over. Both funding options serve the same shared company wallet.

Reserved credits are not yet spent: success charges the fixed quote once, while permanent failure releases the reservation.
