Microsoft Support — Opening PDFs in Word
Skavio Convert gives you 10 free non-video file conversions daily, up to 50 MB each, plus a separate one-time allowance of 15 video minutes. Start with an everyday format change: HEIC to JPG, MP4 to MP3 or PDF to DOCX. The distinction matters: the non-video allowance renews daily; the free video minutes do not.
HEIC to JPG: prepare an image for its next destination
An image may work on the device that created it but need a different format for its next destination. Apple describes JPEG as more broadly compatible with other devices and operating systems than HEIF—a useful reason to convert when a recipient or upload form asks for JPG. Skavio Convert supports HEIC and HEIF to JPG. It also supports WEBP to PNG, giving you another option when the next task calls for a different image format.
MP4 to MP3: keep the audio when you do not need the picture
If you need the audio from a video rather than the video itself, MP4 to MP3 is a supported Skavio Convert job. A recorded presentation, for example, may be more useful as an audio file when your next step is listening rather than watching. Video has its own free allowance: 15 minutes once. It is separate from the 10 daily non-video files and does not renew each day.
PDF to DOCX: change the format, then check the document
Skavio Convert supports PDF to DOCX when you need a Word-format document. The reverse workflow is available too: DOC and DOCX can be converted to PDF. Review the converted document before sharing it or editing it further, especially tables, page breaks and headings. Microsoft’s guidance for its own PDF-to-Word workflow warns that layout can change and says conversion works best with mostly text documents. That guidance describes Microsoft’s workflow—not measured Skavio results or a guarantee about Skavio’s layout preservation. For other destinations, Skavio Convert also supports PDF to TXT, PNG or JPG. Multi-page image output is delivered as a ZIP.
For regular conversion work: €6.99 for 30 days Convert Unlimited
If you convert files regularly, the paid option is €6.99 for 30 days Convert Unlimited. That is the name and duration of the Convert plan—not a promise of unlimited file sizes or unrestricted processing. Standard conversions run on Skavio infrastructure, locally or through Skavio Worker Fabric, without requiring a paid AI API for normal processing. Here, “locally” refers to Skavio’s infrastructure, not your device. For an occasional format change, start with the free web allowance and choose a supported conversion for your file.
